Turkey manure

Turkey manure is a solid manure that comes from keeping turkeys. This inexpensive natural fertilizer is particularly suitable for humus-consuming crops such as silage maize or sugar beet, as turkey manure particularly promotes the build-up of humus in the soil.

Application

Application is based on the fertilizer regulations. Autumn fertilization is possible with up to 60 kg total N to winter oilseed rape, winter barley and catch crops. A maximum of 170kg N from organic fertilizers may be applied per hectare per year.

Storage

Storage at the edge of the field or on a silo/storage plate is possible if the legal requirements are met.

Advantages

Turkey manure is a particularly inexpensive slow-release fertilizer of high quality. When used regularly, this fertilizer has a very positive effect on building up humus in your soil and is therefore particularly suitable for humus-consuming crops. By building up humus, the chemical properties of the soil are improved and the availability of nutrients to plants is significantly increased.

Effectiveness

With the exception of nitrogen, all nutrients are 100% available. If turkey manure is used in spring, for example, approx. 60-80% of the nitrogen can be expected. With autumn fertilization it is approx. 30-50%. As a rule, there is a very sustainable recurring N effect.
