- Liquid Digestate (unseparated):
pumpable fermentation products without prior solid/liquid separation. - Mechanically separated digestates (solid and liquid phases):
Fermentation products after solid/liquid separation - Dried digestates:
thermally or technically dewatered fermentation products in free-flowing form.
What are digestates from a biogas plant?
Digestate is the organic material that remains after biomass has been fermented in a biogas plant. It contains valuable plant nutrients such as nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium and is often used as organic fertiliser in agriculture.
